The Foundations of Data and Technical Literacy module is delivered online and through the ADRF, and has weekly discussion sessions. You will not need to install any specific software. However, you do need to create an ADRF account as all notebooks needed for this course are located in the ADRF. We expect the content to take no more than 2 hours per week outside of the class session.

The icon to access the Foundations Module workspace will not appear automatically when you complete the onboarding process. If the icon does not appear 24 hours after completing onboarding, please email support@coleridgeinitiative.org.

The data documentation for the Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) subset used in this module contains an descriptions of the variables and tables you will analyze. The documentation is also available for you inside the ADRF.

Much of our content in this module is aimed at using the LAUS data to recreate parts of the WORKR dashboard created by KYSTATS. Please feel free to explore their dashboard and the accompanying technical documentation.

The Fundamental Data Operations Cheat Sheet links the fundamental data operations you will learn in this module to a description of their purpose and use case, as well as the code to carry out each operation in both SQL and R.
